Cocina del Sol in Frenchtown

My husband and I just left. Horrible experience. Outdoor tables were dirty and they brought old menus that would spread germs. Tables are very close together. Washrooms were dirty. If it wasn’t for my husband who for some reason wanted to eat Mexican food, I wouldn’t have stayed. And they took 20 minutes to take our order and after an hour didn’t bring it. Everyone around us was served. When we told them why we were leaving they didn’t look surprised or asked. They said. Sorry and turned away. If you are frail or high risk for COVID consider not going.

I ordered for dinner a $21 dish steak encebollado for pickup and got onions and steak in my container. What happened to the rice and beans? I don't think I will go back there again.

Had the mixed fajitas. Excellent! I enjoy eating outside, the weather is perfect. This is a great little place. Portions are huge! You will never leave hungry! Staff is very pleasant. All around, a great experience and a quiet little town. BYOB.

This is Mexican food heaven!! Hands down the best, authentic Mexican food we've ever had.

For anyone who likes authentic Mexican Cuisine, Cocina Del Sol is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. I had the pork and pineapple fajitas which were the most savory, delicious pieces of meat and pineapple that I have ever tasted in a restaurant. The rice and beans that come as a side are excellent and serve as a great warm up for your main meal. The nachos and salsa were fresh and full of flavor despite the presentation seeming generic and uninteresting.Also consider trying the jarritas which are Mexican sodas that come in Fruit Punch, Tamarindo, and a bunch of other flavors. My fiancee had the chicken tacos and couldn't stop raving about how good they were even though she was full after the second taco.The wait staff were friendly and it was very clear that this restaurant has a lot of customers. Come early and enjoy a delicious home cooked Mexican meal.I will definitely come here again.

Cocina Del Sol is a quaint, quiet, and very tasty authentic Mexican restaurant. It is a family favorite that we frequent and have never been disappointed. Free chips and salsa are always served, and they also offer authentic Mexican soft drinks in bottles as well. It is located in the basement of the building right next to the Cafe, and they offer a few tables of outdoor seating during the summer. BYOB. The burritos, enchiladas, and tacos are incredible, and the other plates are delicious as well. I often eat half of one of the burritos and take the rest home for a second meal later. On top of the great food, the servers and hosts have always been very attentive and timely. I highly recommend Cocina Del Sol to anyone who is a fan of authentic Mexican food.

Took a nice hour long motorcycle ride to get here based on a recommendation. I was not disappointed! I had the Texas burrito and it was fantastic. So much flavor and all the ingredients tasted very fresh. Perfect amount to feel satisfied, not full. Only fault I can find is not enough outdoor seating, but that's irrelevant to the quality of the food.

Food was soooo good!!! The avocado soup was awesome!!!! My first time ever eating watercress salad and with avocados and tomato was just delicious!! Definitely recommend this little awesome place! The guys helping us were so friendly, knowledgeable and fast!
